Gameplay

Ok this is where it plays like a true Madden game. Physics is much improved.
Running is again possible and you go down realistically rather than just plowing thru like in 94.
No more picture in picture for picking a receiver. Instead you can see whole field and receivers have a huge indicator so you can spot who's open. Passing is now great.

Art Style

Player models are more realistic. Tall and lanky
Colors are very washed out and the players don't have an outline so they look flat and fake. No shading. Looks really ugly.

Dorky music plays after scoring plays and on menus. The title music is here finally

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
