Gameplay

Plays about the same as 94, but perhaps a little slower and more difficult. I think it's because opponents dispossess the pick from you more easily.

Level Design

Adds a whole bunch of practice and player creation modes. The core game isn't better and tournaments appear to be gone.

Theme

The menus and game intros take a huge step back. In fact there are now 90 seconds of unskippable logos to open the game. Uggh

The sprites are taller but have worse animation. The framerate is a touch worse.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
