Gameplay

Incorporates a few simulation features only present in Madden and its clones.
16 plays instead of only 8.
Audibles
Hard to gauge the strength of a kickoff because the bars that fill the gauge move but they don't have a container to show the max level.
Less time to survey the field. A little harder to connect with an open receiver.
Still very fun but a little less video gamey

Lots of modes and a create-your-own player mode

NFL and NFLPA licenses.
Plays brisk with nice animations that reward great plays or achievements
Less cartoony than the original

Players are a little bit beefed up and more detailed. They have some shading to them.
Still tiny but animate and move well

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
