Gameplay

Plays nothing like the identically named Mega Driver version. That one was an in-cockpit view while this one has a third-person, behind-car camera. As a result, it looks and feels more like a simplistic, early gen title. It's not bad, just very simple.

Level Design

The arcade, drop-in mode makes this better than the games that force you to qualify for every single race. That mode is here too, but at least it's possible to jump in.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
