Gameplay

Plays like a mix between Custom Robo and the Jetbike Race in Chrono Trigger. You and an opponent robot are on a vertically scrolling race track. Your goal is to punch the other guy until he does, so it's best to get and stay behind him. You each move around the screen crazily. The controls are absolutely awful. It's like guiding a missile across a frozen pond. So staying behind the opponent is difficult but not impossible. Do that and mash away with the punch button to win. Terrible one note experience

Level Design

There are only a handful of levels in the story mode. You can repeat them, for some reason, using multiple different mech drivers. But the mechs always look and behave the same, so I don't understand why you're given a choice. The tracks have slight differences in the environmental hazards, but your punching is still what will determine the outcome of each battle.

Theme

Generic futuristic sci-fi setting. Every next looks the same so there's no character or appeal.

Art Style

I've already mentioned that all mechs look the same but this might be forgive if they didn't look so stupid. They closely resemble the rock em sock em robots, from behind.

Audio

Easily the best aspect of this game. Not great, but the machine-like quality of the music fits the theme well.
