Gameplay

This is a baffling one. Movement around the grid is pretty standard fare, but battles either don't happen most ofthe time, or else they rarely result in damage to your opponents. My confusion is caused by the lack of battle animations and also a lack of health or other unit stats. In other words, I have no idea what happens after "attacking" an enemy. But I know what happens when they attack me - I die. The bottom line is an utterly impossible experience that has no redeeming qualities. It's like playing chess with an army of pawns.

Level Design

I only played two maps, and both were clearly stacked against my army. Tiny choke points reduced most turns into single combat affairs which simply dragged out my quick death into a slow, somber one.

Theme

Zero character. You're just a team of faceless units on a hex board.

Art Style

Again, no style here. The artwork is decidedly 8-bit, with no battle animations or even a battle view. A flashing background on the selected tile is the only indiciation that it's selected or that a battle is taking place.

Audio

The flute-heavy music was easily my favorite feature of this dud. It has a haunting quality to it, like an echo.
