Hook for Sega CD
Review #12051
Hook
The SNES version is still the best.
Gameplay
Slow movement and animations but good sweeping attack radius
Predictable enemy movement
Overworld is nice to see how you've progressed
Level Design
Well thought out levels make use of the flying mechanic and the limitations of your movement
Theme
Art Style
Wonderful graphics but with muted colors. Thye took the SNES version and lowered the saturation until everything was colored orange. I was tempted to drop this all the way down to a 3 because it looks that badly compared to the SNES version, but the artwork is too good. No improvements from the Genesis game, surprisingly.
Audio
Voice acting is new in this version. Tinkerbell makes me want to gauge my ears out.
Terrible sound mixing. The music sounds amazong, but the sound effects are way too loud and are tinny and annoying. It's a shame because the music does sound wonderful.
