Gameplay

Plays exactly the same as the Genesis version, just with more logos and longer load times.
Slippery gameplay but easier passing and checking. Fast paced gameplay as a result.
Excellent framerate and overall faster movement.
Fun as a multi-player game. Not NHL Hitz 20-02 fun, but pretty good as a party game.
AI is smart and they even pull the goalie if they're down at the end.

Same as 93 but with a shootout mode added.

Same as the Genesis version. More sound bits added.

Art Style

Looks great. Excellent animation with no slowdown.

Audio

Rocking menu music. The in-game sounds are worse than the Genesis version. Fewer boos and cheers that react to what's happening on the rink. It's just a more realistic crowd noise.

Includes an unbelievably annoying weight system, limiting both what you can carry and what your character can use as a weapon. If you’re overloaded, you are unable to move. After buying a few things at the weapons shop I thought the game was broken. I had to Google it and read about this weight mechanic. So stupid. It makes the game nigh unplayable. Even with a minimal inventory of a knife, a helm, and two food rations I could barely walk.
