Gameplay

Unfortunately, the controls here are absolutely atrocious. There are two control schemes - dpad and flight - but in both cases there's a crazy amount of drift.
There are three views - behind, top-down, and in-cockpit. Each stage uses one or more of these but they can't be toggled between at-will.
Movement is positively brutal. You have to roll and pull to banke but again the drift is terrible. Combine this with an FMV background that makes it impossible to identify obstacles that will damage you and you've got a recipe for frustration.

Level Design

I love the stages! These early Star Wars shooters did a great job of making short, interesting experiences. It feels like an FMV version of Rogue Squadron, which obviously had FAR superior gameplay to this one.

Theme

Pre-Disney era Star Wars! Complete with amazing music, sound effects, cutscenese, voice acting, settings, and all the awesome Star Wars stuff. What's not to like?

Art Style

I know it's an unfair comparison, but all I can think of while playing this game is how terrible it looks compared to Rogue Squadron. Heck, it looks terrible compared to Super Star Wars. The FMV videos are a stream of brown and block vomit. Sega CD's lack of color palette does this game dirty.

Audio

Star Wars soundtrack! Movie sound effects! Incredible voice acting!
