Chuck Rock
Joe & Mac: The Twilight YearsGenre: action - platform
Publisher: Virgin Interactive
Year: 1991
System: Genesis
Gameplay Score: 2
Gameplay Notes:
Primary attack is to thrust your pelvis at enemies and hit them with your belly. It's as satisfying as it sounds. Uggh Can't bop Very short jump makes it hard to avoid enemies Controls are responsive but moves are so limiting that progress depends less on skill than on memorization and timing to attack enemies before they can launch an unavoidable attack
Level Design Score: 3
Level Design Notes:
Nice platforming sequences but that's pretty much all the levels have going for them. Just rinse and repeat with the same platforming and throwing rocks to use as portable platforms
Theme Score: 1
Theme Notes:
Joe & Mac setting, although enemies are almost exclusively little critters. Much less threatening or appealing than something like Joe & Mac
Art Style Score: 2
Art Style Notes:
Amiga like graphics Well drawn sprites and backgrounds but the hero is one of the ugliest, least attractive sprites of all time.
Audio Score: 3
Audio Notes:
Best described as caveman sounds Whoever did the sounds for this game watched a lot of Captain Caveman as a kid Music is decent but tracks are very short and repeat often
Overall Score: 46
