Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun for SNES PAL
Review #3901
Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun
Two-lane Frogger
Gameplay
Mostly the same gameplay as the first game, but slightly less laggy. You still only have a run and jump button, a huge hitbox, low health which doesn't refill between stages, few health pickups, nothing to collect or items to use, and an oppressive time limit that gives you barely enough time to finish each stage.
Level Design
Again, nearly identical to the prior game. Short stages that require experimentation and memorization. Most have two planes that allow you to go back or forward to avoid enemies. It feelsa bit like Frogger, if there was only two lanes of the highway.
Theme
Same as the first game. Presented in a storybook fashion. Has a supernatural setting right from the get-go.
Art Style
Seriously impressive animation and artwork. It comes at the cost of gameplay, but the attention to visual detail is commendable. The transition from foreground to background is done really well. One of the most unique looking games of the era. But the actual art design is an acquired taste.
Audio
Low-key music and minimal sound effects. I turned off the sound almost immediately.
